DENYER RACE MEETING IS CERTAIN. Overland Park Being Made Ready for Thirty-Ono Days Racing This Summer, John Condon has returned from Denver, where he went to make arrangements for racing the coining summer. He said yesterday that the Overland Park meeting would be one of thirty-one days and not run indefinitely as western rumor had it. There will be one or two harness races daily for the first six or eight days. If the meeting earns the approbation of the Deliver public, and moves the success it gives promise of being, the owners of the race track will next year build a new grandstand and stables at a cost of 1230.000. which will put the plant among the best equipped race courses in this country. Mr. Condon has leased Overland Park, which belongs to the Interstate Fair Association, ami Billy Myer is now there shaping the course for the meeting, which is to Ih gin June 10 and run to July 24. Martin Nathuiison. who is here from California, will be secretary and handicaiHier of the meeting and 1". J. Bryan presiding judge, ami J. Tribe will probably start the horses. The Colorado Derby will be one of the meetings features and the Colorado Handicap an important event of the closing day. Mr. Nathanson will shape the conditions of the five or six stakes of the meeting within the next few davs. The purses will be from 00 to 01 1 in value, averaging ,100 to .21X1 daily. He has also to arrange the harness events — a new side of racing to him. All the races this year will be run on the mile outside track formerly used only for harness races.
