The Sloan anti-race track bill, which passed the senate a few davs ago. was yesterday amended in the house so as to In-come operative May 1. lull. This necessitated its return to the senate today. Hie senate refused to concur in the amendment and the house. niioii receiving notice, adopted a motion to insist on its amendment. The measure will pass as amended, or not at all. The legislature will ad i. .in n sine die at noon Friday. The bill provides tine or imprisonment for violation of its provisions prohibiting race truck gambling. Tlie house vote on the amendment was 34 to 2!. The Tampa and Jacksonville tracks are those whicn will be princi pally affected by the proposed legislation.
