NEW CASTLE SHOWS PROMISING FORM. New York. .Tune 7. — Elliott Cowdin. breeder of th" Meddler-Homespun colt Newcastle, for which Her man B. Duryea paid 0;70o at the yearling sales last season, has received word from Fnglaml thai New Castle is a promising two-year-old. Harry Payne Whitney took a half interest with Mr. Duryea in the purchase of this colt, and New Castle is now in tin- Whitney stable at Newmarket. Joyner has made as effort to get the colt to the post so far. because Mr. Duryea and Mr. Whitney do not wish it. Newmarket is eligible for the SBSSSSB Derby of 1910. and his owners desire to give him every op-port unit v to mature before putting him at hard racing. The youngsters Joyner has raced in Fnglaml so far are only the most precocious members of the juvenile division of the Whitney string.
