MILLER TO RIDE FOR GEORGE W. SMITH. New York, July 17. The reason for the delav of the English Jockey Club in granting a license to jockey Walter Miller was due, to correspondence with the Jockey Club at New York concerning the records of Miller and trainer Thomas McCreery, who went abroad to make Millers engagements. As both liad established good reputations in this country they found favor in the British domain. Miller can ride at 112 pounds. He has kept himself in perfect condition by exercising on the various training courses. George W. Smith, of Middleham. Yorkshire, has secured a call on Miller. Trainer McCreerv handled horses for Frederick Johnson, F. Ambrose Clarke and other owners in America.
