HORSES CLAIMED AT EMPIRE CITY. New York. July 17. Black Mary was claimed from "Mr. Currie" for ,000 b.v II. G. Bedwell, following her defeat in the race which Fireball won at Empire City. Several claims had been put lu for her. Bed-well resold the filly to E. R. Bradley for ,020. when Mr. Bradley informed him that he would not dare look "Mr. Currie" his wire In the face if he did not get the mare hack. Black ilarv. a comely daughter of Star Shoot and -Maribel, was raised bv Mrs. Bradley, who would not swap her for half a dozen such horses as Colinct .and Bad News and Jolly. On the same day S. F. Hvmaii claimed Madeline L. for J. L. MeGinnls for ,200. Madeline L. is a half-sister to the Burns Handicap winner. Dr. lx-ggo.
