THINKS WELL OF THE FADS PROSPECTS. New York. July 20. The Fad has shown up so well at Empire City that he will be nominated for some of the fall fixtures for two-year-olds on the New York tracks.- He has no stake engagements at Saratoga. C. C. Van Meter was asked, after the colts last victory at Yonkers, if he cared to sell the youngster and his reply was as follows: "The Fad can be bought, of course, but the man who takes him from my stable will have to put up a big sum of money. He has already won ,000 for me. aud I do .not consider him as good today as he will be later on. The chances are, therefore, that he will win ,000 or ,000 more before he goes into winter quarters; and In view of the performances this season of Fashion Plate, his brother, I have every reason to hope that he may make a first rate three-year-old."
