TROUBLE OVER BETTING TRANSACTIONS. Xew York. July 29. Acting upon complaint of Charles J. Koehler, manufacturer and horseman, the Jockey Club officials have instructed tlie Pinker-tons to debar from tlie race courses under Its jurisdiction Herman Rosenthal. Koehler claims that Rosenthal accepted from him one day last year a commission of ,000 to be placed upon the horse Besom at Sheepshead ltay. The horse won at 2 to 1, but Rosenthal did not turn over the winnings to Mr. Koehler. and tlie matter came into the Supreme Court, was tried, and Rosenthal lost the case, it being held by Judge Platzek that it was a legal tiling to accept a commission. Rosenthals defense had been that it is was a gambling transaction. Koehler has never been able to collect the money. Rosenthal claims that he is unable to pay. He lias been in the old-time betting enclosure at various tracks tins year, but lias been under the especial espionage of the Pinkcrtons. Well-known politicians interested themselves in Rosenthals case, but when shown the correspondence in tlie case, these men have withdrawn their support, and Rosenthal will not again be able to enter the tracks. He was tendered .5. which ho bad paid for a members badge for the Empire City meeting, but refused to receive it.
