PRESENTATION TO R. F. LEIGHTON. Victoria. B. C, July 29. The presentation of a magnificent silver service to Robert Leightou, manager of the Victoria Country Clubs summer meeting, by horsemen, officials of the track and racegoers, as a testimonial of the general esteem in which the recipient is locally held, was a pleasing feature in connection with racing here a day or two ago. W. J. Taylor. K. C, the city barrister, in making the presentation speech, declared that Mr. Lelghton is the most popular racing official in British Columbia and that the people here want him to remain and continue his efforts in placing racing on a firm basis.
