Hyperion II. followed Marchmonet closely to the last firlong, where lie came away after, a slight shaking up. Murchmonet had an advantage at the start and, setting a fast pace for the first five furlongs, held on well in the stretch .and olitstaved Dr. Waldo Briggs in the closing drive. The latter was forced to go wide for the entire trip and ran a good race. Sir Edward, away slowly, also ran a good race. Hasty Agnes made a game effort after going a quarter, but tired In the stretch. Star Wnw, away forwurdly. followed the leaders close up to the stretch, where he forged into the lead, but was unprepared for the winners rush. Eye White had no mishaps and was forced to a hard drive- for the entire trip. Lord Elam closed a big gap after saving much ground when turning into the stretch. Metzie had a rough trip. C. H. Pedro came with a rush on the Inside when entering the homestretch and finished gamely. Mary Talbott was prominent most of the way and only tired in the last furlong. Hanbridge followed the winner closely- to the last quarter, where he made a game challenge for the lead, but .tired under his heavy Impost. Old Honesty, away iioorly, raced into a contending position in the first quarter, only to be shuttled back sharply, then moved up on the outside, but faltered in the stretch. Tourenne, practically left at the post, was a distant trailer for the first three-quarters, then closed a big gap in the last three furlongs and would have been a. sharp factor, with an even start. All Red was prominent for three-quarters only. Gretna Green retired after going a half. Michael Angelo had no mishaps and showed sliced for the first half.
