STAKE RACING OF THE WEEK. Saratoga Events of Quality to Be Decided on Historic Ground Windsors Best Bets. The animal meeting of the Saratoga Association begins at Saratoga tomorrow and will continue for twenty-four racing days. In the course of the first six days eight closed stake races will be run, of which the Flash Stakes, for two-year-olds, at live and a half furlongs, anil the ,000 Saratoga Handicap, for three-year-olds and oyer, at a mile and a quarter, are set for tomorrow, the names of the probable starters appearing in the entries published today. The feature of Tuesdays racing will be the 0,000 Spinaway Stakes, for two-year-old tillies, at live and a half furlongs. It has forty eligibles, of which those deemed most likely to start are Ocean Hound. Indian Maid. Schoolmariu, Degree, one or two of John K. Jladdens seven eligibles, Projectile, lollie Levy. Sadaimuda, Queens Song. Greenvale and Ituuipus. The latter is by Hamburg Hurly Burly, and, conseipiontlv a sister to the great colt, Burgomaster. Queens Sojg and Sadaipiada belong to John Sanford and Degree is .Mr. Keenes half-sister to Sysonby. The Jlonawk Stakes will be nin Wednesday. It is a selling dash of a mile, for three-year-olds, and , Hill Top. Dr. Holzberg. Piute, Donald Jlacdonald. Turncoat, Marcellus. Quantico, Mary Davis, Etherial, Twilight Queen, Kschau, I.awton Wiggins. Guy Fisher. Casipie, The Gardener. Personal, Itoyul Captive, Wise Mason, Prince Gal, Fashion Plate, Kock-castle. Van Den. Duncraggan and Gliding Belle are prominent in its list of eligibles. The Alabama Stakes, for three-year-old lillies, will lie run Thursday. It is a dash of a mile and an. eighth and of the guaranteed value of ,000. It is regarded Maskettcs prey now. Such other good lillies as Field Mouse, Twilight Queen. Hammcrless, Lady Bedford, Lady Hubbard, Nuuda. Gliding Belle. Cotytto and Petticoat are among those eligible to start. No stake races are set for Friday, but three will be decided Saturday afternoon. They are the Saratoga Steeplechase, at about two miles: Saratoga Special, for two-year-olds, at three-quarters of a mile, and the Delaware Handicap, for three-year-olds and over, at a mile. The Saratoga Steeplechase has a much better entry list than those stakes so far run over the New York tracks, and with California King, Jimmy Lane. Kentucky Beau. Economy, Bergoo. Reginald, Alamansor, Uufus, Sir Wooster, Locked Out, Sandv Creeker, Waterway and Sanctus among its thirty eligibles, should furnish a capital jumping race. The Saratoga Special has been reduced in value in that the price of a subscription has been cut down from 00 to 50, but the ,500 in gold plate heretofore added has been retained. Little King, Ocean Bound. Megantic, Angerona, Waldo, Sweep, Grasmere, Lovetie, Amelia Jeaks, Rocky OBrien, Medallion, Newmarket and Shannon are eligible. J. B. Respess has two Diek Welles colts in that have not started. They are Fountain Squirrel, b. c, by Dick Welles Barbara SI., and Reimburse, br. c, by Dick Welles Helens Pet. In Baron Dieskau, St. Regis and Herkimer John Sanford also has three yet to start. In the Delaware Handicap are such good horses as King James, Resti-gouche, Fitz Herbert, Maskette, Jeff Bernstein, Field Mouse, Detective. Angelus, Piute, Mary Davis. Etherial, Arasee, Tony Bonero. High Private. Olani-bala, Eyebright, Guy Fisher, The Squire, Lady Bedford. Fayette, Kings Daughter, lluck, Arondack. Nimbus, Danoscara, Fort Johnson and others, but with the weights yet to appear there is no way to estimate probabilities. Two stake races will be run at AVindsor, the Ontario Handicap, at five furlongs, for two-year-old tillies, on Wednesday, and the Windsor Selling Stakes, at a mile and a sixteenth, on Saturday. The Golilen Butterfly, Autumn Girl. Starport, Turf Star, Scruples, Eva Tauguay. My Gal. Polly Lee and Pat-salaga are prominent in the Ontario, and Console. Old Honesty. Alice, Terah, John Carroll, Creel. All Red. Uncle Toby. Tom Dolan. The Minks, Belle Scott, Gretna Green. Reidnioore, Green Seal, Miss Sain, Woolwinder, Clell Turney, Charlie Gilbert and Zip-ango are among those likely to furnish an interesting contest in the Windsor Selling Stakes.
