RYES RACING CAREER AT AN END. From Saratoga conies the news that Kve was so badly cut down in his race Tuesday that- he may have to be destroyed and at any rate has ended his lacing career. This little gelding was the pride of Tammany in 1005 and 1007 and a reliable breadwinner for its cohorts. By Greenan Degenerate, he was a bargain horse and was sold at J. B. Haggins Sheepshead Bay sale June 21. 1004. to Mike Clancy, acting for C. I. Sullivan, for 50. As a two-year-old he won three of nine races in which lie was started, but did not attract any great attention. It was different the next year. He won eleven of twenty-two races and was six other times placed and acquired a following that backed him enthusiastically through thjck and thin and against anybodys horse with which he might be in competition. Four of his eleven victories were in stake races, lie winning the Aqueduct Handicap. Garden City Stakes, Gnu-anus Stakes and Saville Stakes and 2,0.".0. quite a profit on his first cost. He was also a good winner in 1007, but became infirm in his front legs and was comparatively unsuccessful last year. He was a capital race horse of the best type of selling plater and the hero of several betting coups of more than ordinary magnitude. His racing record was as follows: Year. Age. Sts. 1st. 2d. ad.
