NOTES OF THE TURF. John and Evans Tucker. Marshall Cassidy. E. n. Carle. Dion Kerr, Otto Flcischinann. Robert Taylor and Tommy. Wright are scheduled to have mounts in the gentlemens race at Saratoga Saturday. Starter Cassidv is coming in. for much praise for his faultless handling of unwieldy fields at Saratoga. General Sanford will consign some of his horses to the September sales at Sheepshead Bay. Herkimer and Baron Dieskau will likely bo reserved to carry the Sanford colors in the 3-year-old races of 1110. Bedminster, the Cactus II. Taglioni gelding, which won at Windsor Tuesday, was bred by Ed Corrigan and sold to J. S. Hoy for 75 as a yearling. A. J. Jovner has won fourteen races for, II. P. Whitney ln"England this season, and Whitneys English winnings now amount to 8,105. William Martin, the former well-known jockey, is seriously ill at Saratoga. John Madden, former owner of Fayette, declares tiiat that horse would have beaten Hilarious iu the Travers if jockey Powers -had attended strictly to bis own business. Sam Hihlreth, Fayettes owner, entertains a similar view of the race. It Is said.
