Herkimer and Baron Dieskau will likely bo reserved to carry the Sanford colors in the 3-year-old races of 1110. Bedminster, the Cactus II. Taglioni gelding, which won at Windsor Tuesday, was bred by Ed Corrigan and sold to J. S. Hoy for 75 as a yearling. A. J. Jovner has won fourteen races for, II. P. Whitney ln"England this season, and Whitneys English winnings now amount to 8,105. William Martin, the former well-known jockey, is seriously ill at Saratoga. John Madden, former owner of Fayette, declares tiiat that horse would have beaten Hilarious iu the Travers if jockey Powers -had attended strictly to bis own business. Sam Hihlreth, Fayettes owner, entertains a similar view of the race. It Is said.
