Dreamer, away slowly in close quarters and outpaced in the early running, rapidly improved his position on the far turn, but went wide and then just failed to get up in a great stretch rush. Rosimiro ran in nearest, pursuit of the pacemaker to the stretch and tired as If short in the closing, drivp. but, is vcrygood. Spooner ran well, but was never dangerous. Little King, nearly left, closed a big early gap quickly and was a game and close up third. Toniata. crowded outearly, trailed in the middle running and was closing up well at the end. Danlield, from a striding start, held a brief early lead and showed dazzling speed, but retired precipitately and is roguish. The winner was entered for ,500: no bid. Gliding Belle lapped the pacemaker to midway of the stretch and drew out in the final sixteenth, but just lasted long enough and was lucky. Zipango, crowded to last in the first quarter, moved up rapidly on the inside in close quarters, then was shuttled rearward repeatedly .on the turn and in the stretch- and just failed to get up, but was much the best. Killiecrankie. luckily and forwardly placed from the start, drew out with a rush in the stretch, but swerved and was tiring at the end. Pins and Needles ran well up throughout and was In. close quarters In the stretch and unlucky. Miss Kearney showed early speed, but drooped to the rear on. the backstretch and closed a big gap in the last half. Lane Allen set the pace for half of the journey and gave way, but held on persistently in the closing drive and is Improving. Dark-nlght, a prominent contender for the first mile, tired badly in the closing drive. Petticoat ran forwardly for the first mile and retired. Nether, most, badlv outpaced, made up much ground in the last half. Patriot showed superior speed for six furlongs. Gloriole finished well. Ruxton was prominent to the stretch. Democrat, shutlled back at the start and repeatedly pulling tip In the middle running, finished with a belated stretch rush and almost got up for second place. Scarns, away poorly, steadily improved his position into a close up fourth and going fast. Captain Swanson finished well. Lord Baltimore, after prominent attendance for five furlongs, failed to stay. Sou ran in closest pursuit to the stretch and tired. Martinez, a good looker, showed superior early speed and is evidently short.
