ONE MORE WEEK AT WINDSOR. Windsor, Ont.. August 14. The summer meeting of nineteen days, which began hero on July 31. will come to a close next Saturday and the scene of Canadian racing will shift back to Fort Erie, whence the horses racing on this circuit came here. The Windsor meeting has been iu all respects the most successful in the history of racing hereabouts. The attendance has leen of record-breaking proportions and the sport has been oh a more ambitious scale than ever before. The financial returns to the Windsor association will undoubtedly be proportionately .gratifying. Auspicious weather lias been a feature of the meeting, there having been an almost entire absence of rain. Numerous track records have beeif reduced, as one resiilt of the Improved class of horses that have been engaged in the racing, coupled with the excellent condition that the course has been In throughout the meeting. At the clase of the Windsor meeting, three days Will elapse before the opening of the fall meeting at Fort Erie, on Thursday. August 21. This will give horsemen amide opportunity for the transfer of their stables to the Niagara Racing Associations track in comfortable fashion. The Fort Erie meeting will run for nine days and will Come to a close September 4. the same day that the Slontreal Jockey Club will open at Blue Bonnets for a fall meeting of thirteen days.
