KEENE HORSES BACK AT THE BAY. Saratoga. X. Y.. August 25. James Kowe has left for Sheepshead Hay with the Keene horses, feeling much more hopeful of success in the Futurity than he did before Urasmerc defeated Waldo in the United States Hotel .Stakes. For in the United States Urasmerc ran the kind of race trainer Kowe had been looking for from him all year. He broke smoothly and. flattening right down, applied all his energies to the task in front of him. Kowe does not believe that Waldo could have conceded eleven pounds to Urasniere and defeated him even if lie had run his race Saturday. Realizing that the Futurity is an open race this year, Kowe will leave nothing undone to win it. Sweep, the National Stallion Race winner, will be sent to the post to do the best he can under 130 pounds, and Urasmerc will be ready to do his best under the regular two-year-old weight. Since Celt has gone to the stud. Kowe has but four horses upon which he can rely to run in the big raees at the Hay. They are the two-year-olds Just mentioned, and the three-year-olds. Hilarious and Maskette. Howes horses did exceptionally well here at Saratoga. Maskette and Hilarious are, in fact, better than they ever were before.
