BETTER FACILITIES FOR BRIGHTON BEACH New York January 1 As the field stands will not be reopened on the Jockey Club tracks for some time to come if at all the Brighton track will not have many improvements to make in preparation for next season The field stand at the Beach was torn down a year ago but the space occupied by tlie structure can be used as a promenade or for new stables The clubhouse paddock jockeys lockerroom and the big grandstand remain intact and the track itself has not been altered in shape or size Brighton closed its gates In 1908 without enjoying the benefit of the new express train service to and from the Brooklyn bridge Racegoers will therefore Hud better trans ¬ portation facilities than ever before when they go to the Engeiiiiiii race course next summer The Long Island Railroad by the way has built a new terminal half way between Brighton and Manhattan so that special trains to the Beach track will be run for the first time
