SEAGEAM TRAINER ON EASTERN VISIT New York January 1 Barry Littlefield trainer of the stable of Joseph E Seagram is spending the holidays with his father the venerable Charles Lit ¬ tlefield who is handling the string of James B Haggin these days Barry has been in the employ jf Mr Seagram for upward of four years now and he likes his job Mr Seagram who is one of the foremost sportsmen of Canada breeds thoroughbreds it liis place near the town of Waterloo and he races these homebreds with others hebuys In the States Mr Seagram generally puts his best foot forward in Canada at Woodbine Hamilton and Montreal But Uarrv Littlefield generally manages to get down to Saratoga and Sheepshead Bay in the fall with his string and the Seagram colors are often seen in front hereabouts hereaboutsLast Last season Mr Seagram sent a good mare this vay In Bouquet a daughter of Kinley Mack and Briar Sweet that he purchased from Charles Little leld The elder Mr Littlefield developed and trained Bouquet for James B Haggin He got 5000 for the mare when he sold her and she is still good for facing She will surely campaign on the northern circuit next summer When she is throigh with racing Bouquet will be bred to the Himyar stallion Havoc the horse that took show money behind Ben Brush and Tho Winner in the Suburban of 1S07 If ie does not send her to Kentucky to be mated with some stallion standing in America Havoc has had a fair measure of success in Canada where he has been standing since his retirement from the turf He got a good handicap horse In Inferno and he has sired half a dozen other useful winners
