PIMLICO STALLS COMPLETELY FILLED. Many Horses of Good Quality on Hand for Meeting Which Is Scheduled to Open This Afternoon. Baltimore. Md.. April 19. —With good weather and the pros|»oct that it will he a fair day. tomorrows opening at Iimlico promises to be the best iu the history of the track. There are probably more horses quartered at Iimlico today than in many veals. Kvery slall inside the course is tilled and late-comers have had to find accommodation* on the outside. The arrival today of the Chelsea Stable from Washington, numbering eight horses, and those of W. 1. Htirch and Harney Sehreiher from New York, completed the junta that will participate in the meeting which begins tomorrow. In all there are about liOO fcaraM ready to race. The people of Baltimore are keen for the sport and it is expected that Washington will send a greuier delegation this -pring than ever before, in view of the fact that there has been no racing at the national capital for some time. Arrangements have been made for special trains from Washington, an innovation so far as racing at 1iinlico is concerned. The prospects this morning were that he track would he good, but a drirzling rain began to fall about eight oclock and continued until Into iu tile afternoon. The result will he a heavy track. It is the talk among the trainers that the two .•ear olds at Iimlico this spring are of a better class than have raced al the old hill-top course in several years. August Ilelmonts colors will he soon tomorrow for the first time this year. He has Heretic, a son of Hastings, in the fifth race and Asticot in the second. The latter was one of his horses that raced in Lngland last year. Eddie Dugan is here and will ride both of the ISolmont horses. Heretic is not the best youngster in the ISolmont barn, hut his trainer. John Whalen. thinks well of him. All the officials are on hand, the last to arrive being starter Hade, who came this afternoon from his home at Henderson. Ky. Steward Frank J. Bryan. Judge F. C. Smith and Clerk of the Scales Herman Conklin reached here last night. The presiding judge will be William I. Higgs. In the stewards stand, besides Judge Brvan. will lie Thomas Clyde and William M. Manley. Raymond Belmont, son of August Belmont, is expected to arrive tomorrow iu time to see his fathers horses go to the post. other prominent racing men who will be here for the opening are William AstuC Chauler. Walker, of Virginia, sent three racers from Jamestown in the care of J. Melhorne. including Fearnaiighf II.. Mon Ami and Polly Lee. Frank Lightfoot brought the four-year-old jumper. Br. Pillow. Doris Ward. Hawki and Katherine Van. In the same car were Mayweed and another one belonging to Fred Gardner. W. M. Sheedy brought Stepchild and Lois Cavanagli.
