LAT0NIA PAYS ITS KENTUCKY ASSESSMENT. Lexhartoa, Ky.. April 30. — The Kentucky State lining Commission, with all the niemtters present, met here this morning. John Hachmeister. secretary and treasurer of the Latonia Jockey Chlb. paid over to Secretory BhrweU ,035, being the amount of the State Racing Commissions assessment at the rate of 615 | er racing day at Latonia during the yean MM and 1Mb. The eonuakarioa instructed the secretary to issue a license to Bitonia for l.ilo. and a meeting of thirty days, to ltegin on June o. was sain-tioiied. The following ofheials for the I.atonia meeting wen also approved: Charles F. Prtoe, presiding judge: Boy beckett, clerk of the course: F. W. M iginu. raeins secretary and banatcaaaer; and James Milton, -tarter. Cot. Mil ton Yoang was appointed steward to represent the racing commission ai I.atonia. Mr. Hachmelater says baa! it is the desire and Intention the l.alonia Jockey Club to work ill harmony with the State Bacing Commission for the betterment of turf conditions and improved lacing in Kentucky. The same spirit of good fellowship was manifested on the part of the omiuis-sion. Apparently Kentucky troubles are at an end and if is to be expected that there will be harmony and unity of purpose. President D. day Falconer and Messrs. Irving II. Wheateroft and C. II. Cheiianlt made up a committee from the Kentucky Association appearing with a request that the state Baeing Commission aancttea a charge of seven per cent, commission on the pools at the local spring meeting. It was voted that the live per cent, rate shall bo maintained through the pcrhxl of spring racing iu Kentucky.
