LOUISVILLE PROGRAM IS ISSUED. Book Covering First Ten Days of Racing Issued by Secretary Davis — Gossip from Kentucky. Louisville. Ky., September 19.— At Churchill Downs this morning considerable work of an average nature was reeled off. although four rather noteworthy performances took place. Eye White cantered three quarters handily in 1:18. Light Blue went five-eighths in 1:03, and Prince Gal and Nimbus as a team worked a half iu 49|. All other trials were at a two-minute clip. Trainer Westmoreland has moved the string of F. J. Pons from Douglas Park to Churchill Downs. In the bunch are Ben Double. Jack Penman, Jack Parker. Abrasion. Font. Tony Bonero, Louis des Goguets, Great Heavens. Agnes May and Edna Collins. All seem in fair condition. Trainer Westmoreland received a letter from Mr. Pons today announcing that he had married Miss Edna Collins at Mclntyre, Ga.. September 14. This Is Mr. Pons fourth matrimonial venture. His latest bride lias lieen in charge of his household following the death of his third wife. W. . Parmer lias sold to F. J. Pons the chestnut yearling colt by The Commoner — Irresistible, by Iroquois. This was the last yearling by The Commoner bred by Mr. Parmer, Mr. Pons having bought ten others last summer. This colt is a brother to Edna Collins. Edward Jasper has arrived from Cincinnati. He is to act as entry clerk and assistant to Lyman H. Davis, secretary of the New Louisville .bx-key Club. The program book for the fall meeting, which opens October 1. was issued today. It contains the entries in ten stakes and the program for the first ten days of racing. It is basntlfnlTj printed and the front cover is embellished with an autumn leaf. Jockeys Dave Nicol and W. Knapp have arrived. Nicol weighs 116 pounds. He says he will show this fall at the Downs that he can "rome hack." Pat Dunne will go to Lexington tomorrow. Because of a bad foot Boola Boola will not be raced until next spring. J. O. Keene. in informing Secretary Lyman H. Davis of this fact, also staled that he would bring five horses to the fall meeting from Lexington. George M. Odoms Ben Lasca. Follie Levy and Prince Gal were out at Churchill Downs Sunday for an airing, and they attracted favorable attention. Prince Gal is of heroic build. William Shields worked Smoker and Merman. They are ready. Frank D. Weir breezed Barley -thorpe. May Amelia. Kingship. Bal Mastersou. Galley Slave and Helen*, all of which look good. At Douglas Park Sunday Bye blight and Dr. II0I7.-berg were sent a half mile in 51 V- and three-quarters in 1:20. Several horses in the stable of F. .1. Pons were sent a half around 52. Tony Bonero. Ben Double and Jack Parker working at that clip. Trainer Westmoreland will move the Pons siring to the Downs this week. A man in dose touch with Samuel C. Ilildreth states that Mr. Ilildreth intends to start Filz Her bert in tlie St. Leger Handicap ami that Immediately afterward the great horse will l o shipped to Fort Erie to run in tlie Dominion Handicap on October 4. after which tlie son of Elhelliert will be brougbt back to Churchill Downs to complete his Kentucky engagements. The once noted racer. Galeae] Jim Douglas, died of colic today al the Collins farm, mar Louisville. He was a bay horse, aged eight, by Henry Young — Rainy Day. by Troubadour, ami was owned by A. Y.
