JAMESTOWN MEETING ENDS CLOSE OF BACING AT VIEGINIA TRACK WINDS UP EASTERN SEASON Norfolk Venture Successful and Promise Well for forFuture Future Horsemen Scattering in Various Direc Direcf f tions Principally to Jacksonville Norfolk Va November 19 Today marked the end of the fall meeting of the Jamestown Jockey Club and the closing of the racing season in the east With the ringing down of the curtain came a scattering of horsemen in all directions A majority of the stables will leave for Jacksonville tomorrow when a sixteencar special will leave over one of the roads running from here to Florida The present meeting was the most successful ever held at Nbr folk aud next year promises even better The re ¬ ceipts of the track were set aside today for the benefit of St Vincents Hospital The horsemen did their share by donating the purse added to the opening race The program was made up of eight races one of which was over the hurdles Thecon ditions of one of the other races calted for1 starters to be owned by members of the Norfolk Hunt Club ClubFavorites Favorites won a majority of the purses and most of the finishes were close enough to prove interest ¬ ing The feature race went to Blackford which beat Sandrian a couple of lengths The purse that was donated to the hospital fund was won by David Dnnlops Bendaga BendagaB B E Watkins ships Blackford Cliff Edge and Lad of Langden back to Shcepshead Bay tomorrow He sold Goldleaf to E W Moore Thrifty to H Penny and Woolcasta to J McLaughlin Jr this morning morningFrank Frank J Bryan who officiated as steward repre ¬ senting the Jockey Club left tonight for New York William P Biggs returned to Baltimore while Fred W Gerhardy and starter A B Dadewill leave for Jacksonville morningO tomorrow morning O W Scott has decided to rest Martin W Little ¬ ton and J H Honghton during the winter and the pair will be shipped from here to Dallas Tex where Mr Scott owns a farm The next time they go to the races will be at Toronto next spring said Mr Scott this afternoon The latter has several yearlings at his farm and he will ship the best of them north next year A G Weston who will train a public stable at Jacksonville this winter has arranged to handle Mcxoana Semiquaver and Abound for B T Wil ¬ son Jr Tom Healcy will also ship about six of the Wilson yearlings to Mr Weston after he gets things straightened out at Belmont Park ParkBobert Bobert Walden shipped the stable he was racing here back to his farm at Middleburg Md where they will go into winter quarters I have a filly by Chilton said Mr Walden that is the fastest thing I ever broke and unless she is a counterfeit I believe that she will be the winner of the Cln baugh Memorial at Pimlico next year yearWilliam William and J W Garth will ship their stables to Charlottesvllle Va William Garth has decided not to race any horses this winter The firing irons will be applied to the ankles of Supervisor the two yearold halfbrother to Superstition SuperstitionErnest Ernest Hall Will leave for Jacksonville with the apprentice jockey Dunn who will do the lightweight riding for John W Schorr this winter winterBob Bob Levy announced that he would apply ft rdates to follow the closing of the meeting at Jacksonville next spring Tom Healey and James Bowe both an ¬ nounced before leaving here that they would ship part of their stables here next spring springTwo Two horses were claimed yesterday W Brooks owner of Hazel tliorpe took Neoskaleeta Tor 550 and J W Garth claimed Henry Munro from S BH lings for 800
