GOSSIP FROM BLUE GRASS REGION Lexington Ky November 19 Manager Charles F Hill of the Kingston Farm is of the opinion that Clarence H Maokay may decide to devote those splendid acres to the raising of hackney horses and polo ponies The transfer of the stallions Meddler and Sanders and a band of splendid thoroughbred mares and weanlings to the Haras Fitzjames Cler mont France leaves Kingston Farm virtually un ¬ occupied by horses and since Mr Mackay has it under lease for another five years dating from the first of the present month he must put it to use as a stock breeding establishment for under the terms of his contract he cannot cultivate the land The stallion Banastar and three marcs Becky Sbarpe dam oC BeckmesscE a good wiuner in Eng ¬ land this year Vantage dam of Irene Lindsay Disadvantage Deuce etc and Vacation dam of Bowling Brook are the only thoroughbreds now on the farm and the other nine equine occupants of the place arc made up of riding aud driving horses horsesI I have had no definite instructions from Mr Mackay as to his plans for Kingston Farm snid Manager Hill a day or two ago but I am of the opinion that it is altogether likely that he will send down some of the hackneys and polo onles from Boslyn in New Jersey It is true that the devotion of such land as this to the breeding of hackneys and polo ponies would be somewhat expensive but Mr Mackay has it on his hands and I do not tlilnk he is disposed to let it remain idle It is not likely that he will devote it again to the breeding of thoroughbreds Had that been his intention he would hardly have shipped Meddler and his mares to France I intend to make a public season with Banastar next spring This son of Farandolc and Blessing has some good representatives on the turf the most serviceable of which is Hanbridge HanbridgeThe The statement that Sis Olee died at Kingston Farm was incorrect Sis Olee was the property of Dr P H Molloy and died of colic at his place ou Anglin avenue She was never at Kingston Farm except when she was mated with Banastar She left a weanling colt the property of Dr Molloy by Banastar
