SYLVESTRIS outbroke the others and set a fast pace, but quit in the last sixteenth after taking a long lead after entering the homestretch. LA SALLE was as good as left. WHITE WOOL moved up rapidly after en lering the homestretch, but his rider was of very little help to him when it came to a hard -finish. IHLE -WEISS ran well, but was much "used in following the pacemaker and tired badly near the end. ISA I NEWS II. stumbled and fell on the turn into the backstretch. DONALD MACDONALD set the pace from the start and gave-way at the sixteenth post, but came again in a resolute final effort. GUY FISHER closed a great gap and finished with a rush after dropping back while rounding the far turn. CARLTON G. made up much ground and came fast through the stretch. TOM HAYWARD was off badly.
