JOPLIN RACERS TAKE TWO PURSES. Tampa, Fla., January 0. Summerliko weather and more numerous starters brought about an increased attendance and general improvement in all phases of tho racing today. Wayne Joplin again scored a double with Tony W. and Elizabethan. Botli were at prohibitive odds and invited speculation only from the heavy bettors. T. Koerners timid handling of Hiram -was held responsible for his failure to laud the purse in the- third race. The judges reproved the jockey for his weak effort. Tiie judges again received a communication from William Walker demanding that they prevent jockey Ramsuy from riding hero and threatening to sue the association here unless his demands are complied with. The judges some time ago advised Mr. Walker that they would stop Ramsey from riding here on condition that he send the boy Ids railroad fare to Juarez, where the Walker stable Is located. Ho refused to do this and Ramsey will lie allowed to accept mounts here until he earns sufficient money to enable him to rejoin the Walker stable. Sandpiper was excused from starting on account of sickness.
