NOTES OF THE TURF. Fred Taral has abandoned his plans for a trip abroad to train for Count Pechy "of Vienna and will make application to the Jockey Club for a license to train in this country. Superintendent James P. Ross of the Kentucky Association track, has left Lexington for a two weeks trip to Tampa and Jacksonville in the interest of the stakes for the Lexington- spring meeting. Former State Senator Owen Cassidy, who was one of the foremost republican opponents of the Hart-Agnew bill in the New York legislature of 190S, died at his home in Watkins, N. Y., a few days ago.
