PLUNGES GO WRONG AT OAKLAND. San Francisco, Cal., January ."1. A plunge on Fort Johnson went wrong at Oakland today when Rosovale lMat. hijii easily. The last time they met the Mackenzie nicer won and accordingly was supported again today, while a liberal price was quoted ugainst- Rosovale. The latter went to the front and won easily. In the final quarter jockey Glass, on Fort Johnson, used rough riding tactics and interfered ,wi,th Rosevalo. for which he was fined 100. Another plunge went wrong in the fourth. Tav Pav was the medium, but third was the best be could do. Ayaine won from Ben Uncas. Ilex was the surprise in the closing race. Ten horses owned by the Orangevalo Stable have been sold to Edward Gaylord. Six were shipped to Juarez today and four others will go Thursday, together with those of Joseph Schreiher. Earl Lin-nell will act as trainer and Guy Garner will do the riding. Later the stable will be shipped to Pimlico. The Indications arc that racing at Oakland will end fifteen days after Governor Johnson signs the Walker-Young bill. There is nothing on which to base a prediction as to the future of the sport in California. The Walker-Young bill will reach Governor Johnson this week, but it is not known whether he will sign it immediately or wait a few days. Horsemen are hoping that racing may continue until February 22 for the running of the California Derby.
