TAMPA RACE TO BE INVESTIGATED. Tampa, Fla., January 31. After the "running of the first race, won by Eglantine after being backed to the exclusion of the others, the judges announced that they would begin an. investigation tomorrow morning. Their chief cause for the inquiry is said to Ie on account of the ride that Pickett gave Little Dutch, a stable companion of Annie Lorrania and the opening favorites in the race. The consistent victories of the liest-backed horses in the earlier races contributed to a panicky feeling among the layers and a. tightening of prices. The books again sustained a deficit, but the attendance continues to show improvement. J. Bryan disposed of his holdings in the B. C. Evans stable today for a consideration of SI, COO. His interest in Teddy Bear. Profile. Merry Gift and Chief Hayes reverts to B. C. Evans. W. H. Moffitt sold Royal Lady and Belle of the Bay to I. B. Freeman today and also disposed of Lawten Wiggins and Ixve Watches to J. F. Sweeney.
