MARKIE M. BEATS FULLETTA AT OAKLAND. San Francisco. Cal., February 7. -Markie M. won the Star Kuby Handicap, the feature of the card at Oakland today. He ruled favorite and led throughout the mile and a half that the horses ran. In the stretch Fulletta moved up and there was some bumping between him and Alarkie M. A claim of foul, made by Selden on Fulletta, was not allowed. Saltigrade proved a surprise in winning the two-year-old dash. Fine weather prevailed, but the track was heavy. Jockey Glass was indefinitely suspended for general unsatisfactory riding. His effort with Veneta Strome yesterday was particularly displeasing to the oilicials. Jake Holtman sent the lields away owing to tlie absence of Richard Dwyer. A daughter born to Mrs. Dwyer died today. A number of horses offered by Ciipt. E. B. Cassatt and Kceno Bros, were sold at auction today as follows: Sallie oDay. C. Lewis. 00: Toe Dancer. C. Lewis. 05; The Bailiffs Daughter. T. Walker, 50: Sleepland, B. S. Mlcheli. 75; Change of Air, W. Short, 40: Ironlwund, G. Snider, 05: Mona Lisa. G. Bassett. 00; Indian Girl, A. Ahuafer, 1911.sh0: Micco, G. AW Berry. 00. Eighteen horses owned by B. Schreiber will be offered at auction Friday. Bob Allen lias purchased the Golden Garter mare Lady Hildrcth and intends to mate her with Rapid Water. Allen will rest his string at the bay track for a couple of weeks after the close of the meeting and will then proceed to his farm in Iowa.
