AJIERICAN GIRL ran in closest pursuit of the winner all the way, but could never get up in a game effort. ELSEWHERE was a forward contender throughout, but was driving hard through the last furlong to outstay JIASSARD. The latter ran well and was carried a bit wide on the stretch turn aud swerved over to the inside in the homestretch. NAUGHTY ROSI-3 stumbled aiul went to her knees at the furlong post. JIONTY FOX stayed better than usual, ran on the inside all the way and showed much speed and drew away, after entering the homestretch when RED BOB bolted to the outside fence, then was ridden out to withstand a challenge from FORT AVORTH. The latter saved ground all tlie way and was wearing the leader down at the finish. BODKIN was badly outrun for the first half, but finished with a rush into a game third. RED BOB swerved badly when leading. DEFINITE, never prominent, was eased up at the end. The winner, entered for 00, was bid up to 00 and sold to S. Louis. Scratched 04251 Hma, IPC. LEAJIENCE ran only fairly well, but came again in the stretch and wearing BOB R. down, ontgamed him in the final drive. The latter tired after seeming dan-gerc-rus. DONAUtrofused to. .leave the post. HENRY HUTCHISON ran in close pursuit of the early pacemaker and caught and passed him while rounding the far turn, but tired in the last sixteenth. DIXIE KNIGHT came from a long way back and was a fast gaining third. MISS MAR.TORIE finished fast, DUKE OF BRIDG EWATEll and LOUIS REIL showed speed. HAVRE quit after setting the pace to the stretch.
