PARI-MUTUELS DISCONTINUED AT JUAREZ. El Paso, Tex., February S. For an off-day the attendance at Terrazas Park today was surprisingly large, fully 2.500 persons being on the grounds by jHst time for the first race. The card was a moderate one. with the fourth race, an allowance affair at seven-eighths, being the chief attraction. What was expected to result in a spirited duel between Enfield and General Marchmont. equal choices in the letting, resulted in a hollow victory for J. L. Browns speedy sprinter. Deserved in the early running, Enfield went to the front when ready and won as his rider pleased. Jockeys Rico and Keogh were in good form, eacli piloting two winners. The pari-mutuels were discontinued today, the management deciding that they had served their purpose in educating Ihe local public as to tiiat especial style of betting. Acumen, winner of the last race, was bid up to .1911.sh00 by William Walker, a former owner, but was retained by TJuinlan and Higol. j
