EFFICIENCY took the lead quickly and. showing the most speed, set the pace all the way, but was tiring and doing her best at the end. COLONEL COOK, prominent from the start, came tlirough on the inside in the stretch and, linishing like a stayer, was gaining and almost got up to win. STAR JASAMINE ran a good race and was on the outside of the leaders all the way. IIHSHTOWN finished gamely after making a wide turn into the homestretch. MACK Ji. HELENA gained steadily and outgamed the tiring EMMA STUART at the end. The latter showed early speed. but was probably short. MOLLY HO finished witli a rush. ELMETA HAMILTON showed much early speed, but tired after racing JOHN A. MUNRO into defeat. DR. BARKLEY closed a big gap and was a fast gaining third. STAFFORD ran well, but tired finally. JOHand: A. LADY IRMA finished fast and. wearing the tiring DAXFIELI down, beat him for second place in the last stride. DAXFIELI showed great speed In pacemaking for a half- mile and held on gamely, but tiring. STAR BLUE was sharply cut on at the half-mile post and was crowded out of any chance. DOUBLE FIVE was pulled up at the start. The winner, entered for ,000, was bid up to ,lK5 and bought in.
