UNITED HUNTS TO HAVE SPRING MEETING. New York, February 10. The directors of the United Hunts have decided to hold a spring meeting at the Belmont Park Terminal track this year. Hitherto the United Hunts meetings at Belmont Terminal and elsewhere, which have always partaken more of the amateur than of tlie professional character, have occurred in tlie fall only. But the popularity they have attained has encouraged the active spirits in the Hunts to believe that the people of New York will stand for two sessions, one in tlie spring and one in the autumn, each year. The spring races at tlie Belmont Terminal will bo held Thursday, June S and Saturday, June 10. To race on those days the Hunts will probably come in conflict with one .of the big tracks. The spring program will provide races for bona fide and qualified hunters, for hacks and galloways, as well as for the regular racers in open events. Provision has also been made for two races for tlie officers of tlie United States Army, one on the flat and the other over the jumps, and tlie co-operation of the officials of the war department, acting in conjunction with Perry Belmont, lias been assured for the arrangement of the conditions for these events. These military races have become important features of amateur meetings, and this years will be generously supported. The dates selected for this meeting follows tlie Maryland United Hunts meeting at Baltimore, and precedes the meeting at Brook-line, thus forming a circuit of considerable importance for the non-professionals in racing.
