TALK OF TAMPA EXTENSION REVIVED. Tampa. Fla., March 0. The final Week of the originally scheduled sixty-day period of racing began today under conditions that may after all bring about an extension of the meeting here. The attendance was surprisingly large and speculation of fair volume. If the same ratio of patronage holds for the remainder of the week it is almost a certainty that racing will be prolonged here at least six more days. Short-priced favorites were again generally beaten, but the public did not suffer, for they landed on the right ones in most Instances. The smart set lost heavily because of the defeats of D. II. Carpenter, Princess Thorpe, Donaldo. Horicon.and Vancn. The latters failure was especially costly. After Vanens defeat by Lois Cavanagh jockey Jensen claimed a foul for imaginary interference. The judges ordered him out of the stand. Close finishes contributed to the enjoyment of the sport and Troxlers good riding was a feature. The judges today lifted the ban on Jockey Irvin. who had .several mounts during the afternoon. Jockey Pryor was suspended for the remainder of the meeting by the starter. Owners have applied for stall room for about 100. horses for the contemplated meeting at Pensacolii. It is unlikely that racing will begin there before March 25,- even if no extension materializes here. ,
