LIBERAL PURSE OFFERINGS AT LOUISVILLE. I-onisville. Ky., March 0. Col. M. J. Winn, manager of the New Louisville Jockey Club, returned yesterday from Juarez, on a Hying trip to settle -some matters in connection -with Kentucky racing. He predicts that the coming meeting at Churchill Downs will be far better than any in the history of the club, particularly localise many of the important horsemen who raced in the east last year will participate. For the twelve stakes to be run. at the Downs this spring more than 1,100 entries have been received. Within a few days the cligibles for the Kentucky Derby and the Oaks will lie announced It is announced that the minimum purse will be 1500. with a plentiful sprinkling of and ,000 values. The purse offerings will break all Louisville records.
