PENSAC0LA MEETING IS ASSURED. Tampa, Fla., March 9. Algronel returned to winning form this afternoon. His victory was foreshadowed in the betting, as he was backed from i to 1 to 5 to 2. Olipians victory in the closing dash enabled tiie layers to offset previous losses on the dav. The first tbree races went to favorites. Rumors are again in circulation of a prospective continuance of racing here for at least another week, but Secretary Smith has only been instructed to frame conditions for three days next week. As a matter or fact, the plans of those most interested are not clearly defined. The Pcusacola meeting is assured, but the opening date will not be announced until next week. There is some opposition to an opening at Pensacola prior to April 1, but it is almost certain that March 25 will witness the beginning of tbe meeting. Over 200 horses have been pledged from here to engage in the racing at the west coast track. There will be at least three weeks of the sport, witli a probable extension. Cartilage and Trait were shipped today to Jacksonville.
