NOTES OF THE TURF. The spring meeting of the Country Club at Victoria. 1!. C. will bo held May 20 to May 27. American owners scored at St. Cloud in France vesterdav. The Prix des Iierriers. for three-year-olds, value .,000. -distance ten furlongs, was won b- Ihrgene Fischofs Tas. The Prix des Troenes. felling, of 00. distance six and a half furlongs, was won by Nash Turners Alby. f Grant Hugh P.rowne, owner of the Brownleigh Park Stable, has returned from abroad. While in England Mr. Browne visited Newmarket. Epsom and oilier training grounds. King Cobalt, Ren Lomond. Lady Rosalie, Centre Rush and several two-year-olds will race on the eastern courses this spring in the Brownleigh Park colors. Willie Shaw, who will ride for Prince ITohenlohe in Austria and Hungary this season, sails today from New York on the North Herman Lloyd steamer Kronpriuz Wilhelm. The Hohenlohe establishment numbers forty-two horses, many of which an; winners of important stake events. Charles Planner, who presides over the- big racing string of Prince Hohenlohe, is an Englishman. Budapest, is the winter quarters of Prince Holienlolics extensive string, and Shaw will go direct to that place.
