LADY HUGHES showed the most speed and. setting a fast pace, should have won, but was poorly ridden at the finish. THISTLE ROSE was outpaced all the way. but ran a good race and finished gamely. PLUVIOUS raced closely with AL MULLER to tiie stretch turn at a terrific pace and was a game and fast going second. MAR.TOIUE A. was badly outrun for the first half, but closed a gap and finished resolutely. AL MULLER set a terrific pace to the stretch, then tired badly. DR. SMOOT was badly outpaced. ROUND TIIE WORLD began slowly, but quickly rushed up into contention and was carried to the extreme outside bv TRANCE, or she would have won. MINNOLETTB began slowly, but came from far back with a tremendous rush and ontgamed JOE WOODS for third place. Slit BARRY showed much speed for a half, but tired badly in the stretch. MISPRISION followed the others well back until the stretch turn was readied, then moved up rapidly and, in a punishing drive, wore the leader down in the last stride. ROUND AND ROUND, much the best, set the pace and appeared an easy winner in the stretch, but his rider became overconfident and threw the race away. BUNA came from the rear In the last quarter with a rush, but unavaillngly. BARNEY OLDFIELD ran well for a mile, but tired finally. MISS CAITHNESS lacked her usual speed, running Tar below her true form.
