FATHER STAFFORD set the early pace, but was interfered with when LADY STALWART dropped back, then came again gamely Into a fast going second. LADY STALWART showed much speed in pacemaking in the middle running, but tired in the stretch drive. WAR JIG jumped up in the air when the barrier arose and had scant chance afterward.
