VALUABLE YOUNGSTER MEETS WITH MISHAP. Lexington, Ky., March 20, Hart Browns two-year-old bay colt, R. G. Miller, by St. Lawrence II. Subdue, was so badly injured at the Kentucky Association track this morning that ho may have to be destroyed. He was at exercise when he threw his rider, whirled, ran the wrong way of the track, collided with W. L. Lewis Mr. Ham ami fell with the latter horse on top of him. One rib was brokeri, his head injured and possibly his spine was affected. Stablemen got him to a barn, but he is still down. Charles Patterson of Ornament fame is his trainer and he has taken the accident greatly to heart. This colt is a half-brother to G. M. Miller and was the most highly tried yearling at the local track ! last year. There -was no quarter of the course that ho could not run in 2." seconds. Mr. Brown a few weeks ago refused an offer of ,000 for him made by Frank Taylor, of New York. He is eligible to the Breeders Futurity and other stakes, and until this accident Mr. Brown and trainer Patterson felt that he had the race practically at his mercy. There is no insurance on the colt. He was named for a Detroit dentist.
