AIAX-EXTIUS ran in forward contention from the start, moved up fast and gamely after entering the homestretch and outstayed XAXXIE AIGEE in the final drive. The latter ran a good race, but tired after taking the lead in the homestretch. CLEARWATER, always prominent, saved ground all the way. but .was tiring in the last sixteenth. GRIP was hopelessly shuffled back at the start. PERIDOT set the early pace and was eased up in the iast furlong. COLETTER ran well. EDITOR closed a big gap and finished eios up. AIAEZIE quickly took the lead and, winning easily all the way, was under slight restraint until in the final furlong, where she drew away. EAGLE BIRD ran in nearest pursuit, but could never get-up and was hustled along for the entire route. PREMIER met with much interference and was taken to tin outside on the stretch turn, then finished witli a rush. P.EX LOMOXD tired after running a good half. NIGHT All ST also made up ground and finished fast. BOB CO. made up much ground in the last quarter and bears watching. STARBOARD ran forwardly until fouled and forced back by ROYAL OXYX. BAD NEWS II. began slowly and closed a big gap. but tired in the last quarter. SPINDLE fell while rounding the far turn and DESCOMXETS tumbled over him. COLONEL ASHMEADE ran well. AiXT KATE was forced to overcome much early interference and was taken to the outside on the turn out of the backstretch, then tired after closing a big gap. LIGHTHOUSE closed a gap and showed good speed, but quit in the last furlong. CAXOPIAX ran well for three-quarters and retired. ROYAL REPORT closed a big- gap and, coming through on the inside in the homestretch, finished fast. ORACLE ran a fairly good race and was going fat at the end. A A I E R I C A NEE R and CAPTAIN SWAXSOX ran prominently to the stretch and quit. The winner, entered for 00, was bid up to and sold to C. J. Odell. Overweights Oracle. 1 pound.
