TRAINING OPERATIONS AT GRAVESEND. New York, April 4. Nearly all the horsemen quartered at the Gravesend course of the Brooklyn Jockey Club are preparing their horses for racing at Pimlico. Superintendent James Duuiphy has spared no pains to have the track proper in its best condition. Some weeks ago he put oh scrapOrs, floats and harrows to work and the result is gratifying to. trainers.. Many horses have worked halves in 52 or better aiid will be ready. George Cornuell. trainer for the Quincy Stable, Is handling six horses this spring- The older liorses in the barn are Everett. AVarbler and Sir Raymond, fhey have had steady preparatory exercise for several weeks. The two-year-olds trainer Conmell is preparing for the spring racing are: Blue Thistle, b. c. by Blues Wild Thistle; .Master Edwin, b. c. by Contcstor Black AVltch, and Golly Igo, b. g, by Gone Coon Casandria. This trio of youngsters are of splendid proportions and gave ample evidence of speed last fall. Con Leighton is training three two-year-olds for Air. Earle. They are particularly good-looking youngsters and are going well in their gallops. George Hamiltons black son of Disguise, Black Friar, is getting a slow preparation. Charles Kohlers horses, trained by Frank M. Taylor, are getting a careful preparation. Faunt-Ieroy and Adams Express have filled out nicely and have shown several fast quarters of late. The two-year-olds Recompense. Sir Marion and Miss Minnie will receive their harrier education next week. Trainer Taylor wintered George M. Odoms good spriuter, Nimbus, at Graveseud. The horse carries more flesh than he did last season and looks well.
