HAMILTON DERBY A PROMISING RACE. Hamilton. Ont.. June 13. — The racing scene in Canada drifts this week to Hamilton, where the Spring meeting of the Hamilton Jockey Club will open next Saturday. stuck interest is centered in the running of the Derby, the feature of the opening day. and this year if promises to furnish the greatest contest i:i the history of the race. Anions those that are being pointed for the event are S. C. Hildreths Novelty and Zeus. August Relmonfs Whist and Trap Rock, R. T. Wilsons Naushon. R. F. Canaans Meridian, James Rowes Lahore, T. R. Condrans The Nigger and J. W. Schorrs Edda. In all probability there will be alwut ten starters, hut these named are an attraction in themselves, and such an array of thoroughbred talent may not again be Mea together this season. Every stall is taken at Hamilton and many horses are quartered on the outside. While the .lumping i aces so far this season have produced small fields. Hamilton will likely prove the exception as there are quite a large number of jumpers on hand, a number coming up from the recent hunt meeting at Baltimore and. as usual, the races through the field promise to be one of the features of the meeting.
