FINE SIGHTS AND RACING AT ROYAL ASCOT. London. Eng.. June 13. โ€” The Ascot meeting began today with peal splendor, the royal procession in which King George V. and Queen Mary rode in state. being cheered by great crowds along its route of progress. The attendance of titled and fashionable people was enormous. The Ascot Stake* of 8100 each with slO.000 added, for three-year-olds and over at two miles, was won by C. E. Howards four-year-old brown colt Will-i syx, with Mr. Fabrics four-year-old chestnut colt. King Midas, second and A. Stedalls five-year-old bar horse. Victory, third. The Prince of Wales Slakes of 8256 each with $. . ยป! added, for three year olds at mile and five-eighths, was won by Lord Derbys chestnut colt. Stedfast, by Chaucer โ€” Be Sure, with H. P. Whitneys chestnut colt. All Gold, by Persimmon โ€” Dame dOr. second, and Sir R. Waldie Griffiths bay colt. Helicon, by Cyllene -Vain Duchess, third.
