NOTES OF THE TURF. Judge W. II. Shelley, who has been in the harness continuously sine- last fall as an official at Juarez. Lexington and Churchill Downs, is enjoying a well earned rest at his Louisville home. The summer meeting of the Oklahoma City Jockey Club opened auspiciously at Oklahoma city yesterday and will continue until and including July 4. E. C. Smith is presiding over the meeting. The first entry received for the stakes of the Coetir dAlcno fair mid Racing Association was from J. H. Munson of Butte. Mont., who nominated Lady Adelaide for the ,000 Inauguration Selling Stakes. Minnie English was about the last good winmr that he trained and raced. T. C. McDowell thinks so well of his unbeaten two year-old colt, The Manager, that when approached recently and asked to put a price on him. he is credited with replying: "If 1 sen The Manager, it would be Just as well for ine to quit racing, so tin colt is not for sale." Edward Jasper, who served as racing secretary at Juarez and Louisville, is one of the cashiers in the pari mm u.
