RACING COMMISSION TO MEET. Lexington, Ky., August 5. The Kentucky State Racing Commission, in response to a call issued today by Chairman E. V. Clay, will meet here on Monday. The matter for chief consideration will be the adoption of a schedule Tor fall racing here, at Louisville and at Latonia. As at present planned, the season is to open here September 10 or September IS for eight or nine days, to be followed by sixteen days at Louisville and twenty-four days at Latonia. It is expected that the commission will at tills meeting also announce the eligibles to the Kentucky Endurance Gold Cup race of four miles and designate the track at which the race shall be run. A number of local owners and twiners will petition the commission to so amend racing rulei 109 as to permit a jockey suspended by the starter to ride out. previously made engagements on the day following his suspension. They maintain that the rule works a great hardship upon them. D. C. Cottle is at the Kentucky Association track with John Grillin II. and Otilo. He came here from, Latonia a week ago. Col. Milton Young is confined to his home with rheumatic gout, but says he nrobalily will be able to attend the meeting of the racing commission Monday. Harry Payne AVhltney. Lewis Thompson ami Jamea Itowe are expected here tomorrow morning from New York. Messrs. Whitney and Thompson are reported! to have entered into an arrangement with J. R. Keene whereby they are to Jiave the produce of the thoroughbred stallions and mares at Castleton Stud for live years. Major Daingerlield. who is in charge of Castleton. says he has received no information to 1 that effect from Mr. Keene or his qtlice.
