THOROUGHBREDS SHOWN AT LEXINGTON. Lexington, Ky., August 12. The Blue Grass Fair, closed today with the breeding classes for thoroughbred horses as the feature. The entries were not numerous, hut the types shown in the various rings wens superb, and it was the concensus of opinion of The many breeders and horsemen in attendance that it was one of the best shows of thoroughbreds of all ages ever made in Kentucky. The committee on breeding classes was composed of F. A. Daingeriield, W. J. Treacv and B. A. Farra, and the judge was John O. Keene. trainer of the Johnson N. Camden stable. His decisions in each instance were quickly and well made and he was generally voted to have been an excellent judge. Among those present was KUiot C, Cowdin, who journeyed from his home at Mt. Kisko. N. Y., solely to see the show. The cash jtrlzes were 5 to first, 0 to second ami $. to third in all rings, and in addition a season to some good stallion was given to the winner of the first lirlze in eacli ring. The show opened with the stallion ring and judge Keene gave the premium to the Castletou Studs Ballot, with John H. .Morris Knight of the Thistle second and the Castletou Studs Delhi third. Ulti-lniis, St. Savin, Stalwart and Crackenthorpe were also shown. The winner of the Broodmare Ring was the Cas-lleton Studs Stepping Stone, a sister to Cataract and half-sister to Runuymede. both good stake horses in England this year. R. T, Wilsons Witchcnift. bv Horoscope, was second and Thomas Piatts Ldith .Mac by Falsetto, was third.
