WORK OF DEPLETION GOES ON. Haggin Shipment to Germany Leaves Less Than 200 Thouroughbreds at Elmendorf. Lexington, Ky., August 12. The second shipment of thoroughbred mares and suckling foals from James B. llaggins Elmendorf Farm to Germany left here today in charge of George Miller. The consignment embraces twentv-six mares and twenty-three sucklings. They are to sail from rfew York on the steamship Bremen next Tuesday and are to be sold by auction at Hoppegarten September S. The twelve year-old bay mare, Untamed, by Goldfinch Ilimera. how in England and mated last spring with Marco-ville. will be sent to Hoppegarten also to lie sold. This shipment leaves at Elmendorf Farm 333 thoroughbred mares and fifty-eight thoroughbred sucklings. Of these remaining mares 10: were mated last spring with thoroughbred stallions and the other thirty were crossed with imported Shire stallions. It is likolv that after the sale in Germany George Miller will return to Kehtueky and take the remaining fifty-eight thoroughbred foals to England lafe in October or early in November. They will have been weaned bv that time. They will be kept at a place to be leased by John Maekey until next July when they will be auctioned at the Newmarket yearling sales.
