ABUNDANT MATERIAL FOR WINDSOR STAKES. Detroit, Mich.. August 14. The; book for the second meeting of the season at Windsor, just issued, shows that six stakes will be run during the autumn tlntes at the track across the river. August 28 to September 4. The stakes, date of running and number of nominations are as follows: Detroit. Relle Isle and Windsor Ferry Co. Handicap. August 2S 71 Essex Stakes, for two-year-olds. August 30 OS Walkerville Steeplechase. August Ml 10 Canadian Handicap, for Canadian-breds, September 1 10 St. Clair Handicap, all ages, September 2 IK Windsor Selling Stakes, September 4 49 Each days card will be made up of seven or more races, with six steeplechase events during the week. The overnight purses have ail been increased, no purse being of less value than 00. As was the ease during the summer meeting. 00 lias been added to the original value of each stake event. The total purse distribution will be about 2,000. All or the high class horses that were here for the summer meeting will return for the second meeting. Tlie otlieials will be the same as at the previous meeting. C- F. Price and Francis Nelson will serve in the judges stand and Fred Oerliardy will have charge of the scales. Sam Parmer will le track superintendent as usual, while Walter 0. Parmer, in conjunction with the judges, will attend to the handicapping. In order to include the Iibor Day date in the Windsor week, the fall meetiiig will begin on Monday.
