HORSES ARRIVING AT WINDSOR. Detroit, Mich., August 22. The advance guard of the horses that will provide tho racing during the Windsor meeting which opens next Monday arrived by special train yesterday. Nine carloads, numbering ISO head, came from Hamilton. The Hildreth horses were in the lot and they Included Montgomery, Restigouche, Pardner, Surfeit, the two steeplechaser! The Welkin and Dinna Ken. and others. All of these thoroughbreds belonging to Mr. Hildreth are in good racing condition and will be ready to start any day. R. F. Carmans string also arrived and included Meridian. Starbottle, Semprolus, Bonnie Kelso, Sherlock Holmes, Inspector Lestrade. Dr. Watson, Lady Sapphire, Campeon and Cohort. William Garth is here with his stable, including Supervisor and the two-year-olds Eos and Cherrv Seed. A. Simons charges were aboard the special and included the horses he has In training belonging to James Rowe and Harry Payne Whitney. The track across the river is as fast now as at any time this season and the many speedy horses which have come hero to race may make some new local records next week if rain does not interfere.
