Hut could not quite get up. EASTMAN ran in nearest pursuit to the stretch and tired. LEHIGH began well on the outside and went extremely wide all the way, but finished fast. MARIE HYDE was pocketed next to the rail for the first half, then came around on the outside and lost ground, hut finished with a rush. WANER set a fast pace until well into the stretch, then quit abruptly. RIO PECOS showed early speed. SAM BARBER closed a big gap in the last quarter.
